I've been serving in Afghanistan for the past four months with the Australia Army. During which time I have practially destroyed two pairs of boots. The first were my issued pair, the second pair was to replace those which were an Oakley Assault Boot and both were absolute rubbish. The quality and durability of the Meindl Desert Fox, which you supply is second to none. For you to promptly process my order is greatly appreciated, and your communication is excellent. The Meindl's arrived at my address in Australia in less than two weeks and from there, they were sent to me in Afghanistan which I received 10 days later. Credit is also due to Royal Mail, and Australia Post; But it was due your prompt process of my order for a quality product, and friendly courteous assistance via email and telephone that has made an unquestionable difference. I will reccommend your business to anyone.

ECW Jackets

"These are great much prefer them over our issue NZ ECW down jackets that lose warmth when compressed under layers. Can be bunged into the wash with minimal damage and i find i can operate with out difficulty during moderate exercise wearing it also causes many a green look from cold soldiers even when they are wearing sleeka style jackets."

Meindl Desert Fox

"Quite simply, these are the best boots I have ever owned. I got them to go to Darfur in 2006. I was there for 9 months and they perfomed brilliantly in the sand and heat as you would expect. When I returned, after a short time in the UK I moved to Kosovo where I have worn them almost daily. After 4 years they are coming to the end of their life but they owe me nothing. They are comfortable, durable and reasonably smart. Not cheap but you get what you pay for."

"Used this sleeping bag at the weekend when the temperature dropped to -10 degrees centigrade. I was not cold enough to be shivering even though the bag is only rated to -5. I think realistically at these temps you need a silk liner in it. The bag is very snug on me as I am quite broad shouldered but can expand when you get warm enough to want more width. The reinforced foot is a great feature, strengthening the bag where you need it. The zip does stick a bit but will probably ease up over time. The hood and neck baffle complete this bag and give you the protection and insulation you need. The temp on my second night was -4 degrees C, I got 5 hours of sleep and woke up feeling like I'd slept in a hotel bed even though I was surrounded by snow. After 2 nights use I will say the bag held up well under these conditions and packs away quick no folding just stuff it in the sack and compress took 1 minute to get in my pack ( great when it's cold or you're in a hurry). 8/10 rating would have been 10/10 if the zip was slick from the start and the draw strings a little easier to use when the bag is not expanded. Also this bag is nearly half the price here compared to some stores."


Lowa Desert Elite boots
